Review a list of any pending prescriptions from the Tasks page. From here, you can see the patient, drug, prescriber, location, and date for every pending prescription at your practice. After reviewing the pending prescriptions on the Tasks page, you will need to locate the patient in your EMR to access the pending prescription and send it to the pharmacy.
NOTE: Use the Show CS checkbox at the top right to include or hide scheduled drugs on the Tasks page. Select or deselect the Show CS checkbox, then click the Filter button.
Use the Print icon at the top left to print the Tasks page. The page will display with any filters selected.

Review Pending Prescriptions
- Navigate to the Pending Prescriptions section of the Tasks tab to review all Pending Prescriptions at your practice.
NOTE: If the Pending Prescription was created by a nurse or staff member, their name will display under the prescriber name in the Prescriber column.
- Exit NewCrop, locate the Patient with Pending Prescription in your EMR, then re-open NewCrop.
- Review the prescription in the Pending Rx list on the patient's Compose Rx page.
NOTE: A patient may have multiple Pending Prescriptions. Make sure the appropriate prescription is selected.
NOTE: If the Pending Prescription was created by a nurse or staff member, their name will display under the prescriber name in the Source column.
- Click the Edit button to add or edit Sig Instructions and Dispense Information, or click the Prescribe button to send the prescription to the pharmacy.
NOTE: Prescriptions may be pending with or without complete Sig Instructions or Dispense Information. Only complete prescriptions will transmit to the pharmacy. Incomplete Sig and Dispense Information is highlighted in yellow.
Transmit a Pending Prescription
If a Pending Prescription has complete Sig Instructions and Dispense Information, and you don't need to make any changes, you can transmit it to the pharmacy directly from the Pending Rx list.
- Make sure the appropriate Pending Prescription is selected, then click the Prescribe button. The Transmit Rx screen opens.
- Click the Transmit button to send the prescription to the patient's pharmacy.
Edit and Transmit a Pending Prescription
If a Pending Prescription is missing required information, those sections are highlighted in yellow on the Pending Rx list. You must complete the prescription before it can be sent to the patient's pharmacy. You can also make changes to previously entered Sig Instructions and Dispense Information.
- Make sure the appropriate Pending Prescription is selected, then click the Edit button. The Sig Builder opens.
- Complete the Sig Instructions and Dispense Information, then click the Prescribe button.
- Click the Transmit button to send the prescription to the patient's pharmacy.
