If a provider is unable to successfully identity proof with Exostar by answering the Knowledge Based Assessment (KBA) questions, the provider will have two options to be proofed using an alternative method. The alternative proofing method will allow the provider to receive an activation code. The activation code completes the proofing, so the provider can finish the registration process.
Alternative Proofing Methods:
-
Snail Mail – A provider will be given this option if they are unable to successfully answer the KBA questions.
The provider opts to have an activation code mailed to their HOME address. Exostar uses the US Post Office for delivery and delivery usually takes between 2-5 business days. -
Webcam – A provider will be given this option if the home address is either not valid or found in Experian records.
The provider can attempt proofing a second time if the first attempt is failed to a webcam appointment. After the second failed attempt, the provider must schedule a webcam proofing appointment.
The provider schedules an appointment for a webcam meeting wherein the provider will show the Exostar Proofing Agents the required legal document. Please make sure to show a valid, unexpired driver’s license or passport that matches the name you are using during proofing. If this does not match, you will NOT be approved during your webcam appointment with Exostar. If this does not match, please reach out to your EHR for assistance. During the webcam appointment the Proofing Agent issues the activation code. The webcam appointment can be completed on a desktop, laptop or phone and the meeting invite is sent no more than 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment.
With either option, once the provider has an activation code, the provider returns to NewCrop and completes registration.
