A provider can add an XDEA for any prescriptions that requires the usage of an XDEA. (A provider should ALWAYS be registered under their federal DEA, NEVER the XDEA.)
How to add an XDEA
Go to the Admin tab and click on the “X DEA Information” link under the Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances section:
Type in the XDEA and click Add:
Once added, you will see the XDEA listed:
Once an XDEA is added on the Admin tab, it will automatically assign the XDEA when transmitting medications for which an XDEA is required.
